Dan Saban is Chief Engineer and a senior technologist with 25 years of experience (36 patents) in MW-class electric machines across GE, UTAS, Halliburton, FMC and Danotek, and joins us from his most recent role as VP/CTO at Meggitt in Oregon. In the past, he led the design of the starter-generator for the F35 at UTAS, setting a record for shortest time from design to thermally rated power, and developed the starter generator for the E2-D which was the lightest aircraft generator at that time. Dan has a BS in Electrical Engineering from UIUC, MS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He enjoys backpacking, cycling, and downhill skiing with his family when he isn’t playing lacrosse.
